The watchtower is a tool to help new and experienced players to filter information, especially in mid to late game. In short it detects incoming attacks and automatically tags them with the most important information. Experienced players will still be able to gather more information by watching incoming attacks closely. Of course the watchtower also comes with its own costs, which makes strategic placement important and can also be an interesting target for offensive players.
- Every attack that comes into range is tagged with the army size and if it is led by a nobleman.
- This does not only affect attacks on villages within the range but also attacks travelling through the range.
- Tags on the attack are kept, even if the attack moves out of range.
- Tags are being displayed on the village incoming overview and for PA players on the incoming screen.
- The detection range can be increased by upgrading the tower, as per the below tables
- On browsers the watchtower range is displayed on the map. Mobile users have to use the watchtower screen.

How do I know if an attack will pass through my watchtower radius! - Attacks that will be tagged by your watchtowers will have an "eye" icon next to the command. The attack will be tagged once it passes into your watchtower range.
I just conquered a new village - and my watchtower is not going to tag the attacks that are incoming to it! - Only attacks that are sent while you own the village will be tagged. Anything sent before you conquered the village will not be.
I just built a new watchtower and my watchtower is not going to tag the attacks that are incoming! - Only attacks that are sent after you built the watchtower will be tagged. Anything sent before you built the watchtower will not be.
Im trying to test the watchtower to see how it works - but my tribemate's attack is tagged with or without the watchtower and I cannot see an eye before it reaches my watchtower range! - To test your watchtower, temporarily stop sharing commands with the player helping you to test it. Sharing commands means all attacks are visible and auto-tagged so there is nothing left for the watchtower to tag!
My watchtower didnt tag the attack until just before the attack hit! - Watchtowers will only tag an attack when it enters the watchtowers radius. If the village under attack is close to the edge of your radius. then it will only tag shortly before the attack lands! Perhaps you need to level up the watchtower, or even build a new one to expand your coverage!
